I’m an early adapter, so I’d had tiktok on my phone for awhile, but hadn’t spent a lot of time on it. I’m a working woman! A mix of COVID lock-down boredom and grandson entertainment that had prompted me to open the app up again. Also, Drayke was sick and tired of listening to me sing Truth Hurts by Lizzo on repeat. So although it was admittedly confusing at first, I was able to figure out how to record a video and play music at the same time. It turned out, we had a blast recording our first tiktok together.
After I posted the video, I remember the excitement rising inside of my chest watching the views on this video climb… 10, 20, 300, 566, 799. 1000 – I knew at that moment I had made it. One video down and I was already TikTok famous. “Fake it til’ you make it bitches,” I thought to myself, and hopefully didn’t say out loud to Drayke.
